I'd like to pass on my condolences to Doug, Nancy, Chris and the rest of the family. I only knew Don for a few years but in that short time I grew to respect him as a loving father and patriotic American. He was kind enough to let me hang around the garage and learn about racing. He would have been proud to see me recently fixing my garage door with a pop rivet gun! I'll never forget those summers or Don, Doug and the other people that had a lasting impact on my life.

Words are never adequate in moments like these. We will say though, our hearts go out to you and we will always remember the fond memories that we are privileged to have in knowing your husband/dad. May God's peace be with you. Cherish the memories you created with him. We will always remember him for his caring, loving nature. ~ Butch and Elaine ~

Many prayers go out to Doug and family on the passing of Don. He was very active in the fire service serving as Fire Chief Station 74 Elizabethtown.! He encouraged me as a new firefighter to train and learn as many skills as possible to become a future officer and serve the community! I was very grateful for his leadership and guidance. Until we meet again thank you and God speed from a brother firefighter and Fire Chief!

Knew Donald and Dawson while growing up in Newville, outside of Elizabethtown. They both had a way of getting me in trouble as I was younger than both of them. They were childhood pals. I am sorry for your loss.

Don was a wonderful caring man whom I am proud to call my Father-in-law. He will be missed by so many. I am so happy that I got to witness a wonderful father/son relationship like theirs. He was so very generous with his time. I remember many times he was called in to supervise our project work!! He was so generous and kind.
