Edward C. DeWire

Edward C. DeWire, 60, of Elizabethtown, PA passed away on March 29, 2024. He was born November 30, 1963, in Lancaster, PA to the late Albert and Jane (Helm) DeWire.

Edward graduated from Elizabethtown High School. He spent the last 10 years of his working career as an arborist for Timber Wolf.  Ed was always an outdoors person, and he found a passion in learning how to save trees and shrubs that brought beauty to the environment. He was a proud to join the Navy after high school and follow in his father’s path of serving our country in the United States Navy. After the Navy, he lived in Hummelstown by the Swatara Creek where he built a deck to relax and enjoy his favorite hobby of fishing.  He loved spending time on the deck that he spent hundreds of hours building, and it’s a favorite memory that his brother, Allen will always cherish.  As mobility became an issue, and Ed couldn’t get out as much, he spent the majority of his time in his lift-chair, with a cat on his lap and watching the History Channel.

He is survived by his brother, Allen DeWire, and wife Cindy as well as a niece, Leah and nephew, Andrew. He is also survived by his fur babies who were his true companions and were a joy in his life.
