Brenda A. (Carnes) Staples-Ford, 69, of Elizabethtown, passed away on Friday, July 9, 2021 at the Hershey Medical Center. Born Sunday, May 11, 1952, in Harrisburg, she was the daughter of the late Bernard A. and Barbara J. (Atticks) Carnes.
She is survived by her companion of over 36 years, John I. “Jack” Staples, of Elizabethtown. Also surviving are two children: Kimberly V. Cicero, married to Anthony, of Palmyra and Michael L. Staples, married to Trinda, of Elizabethtown; six grandchildren; five siblings: Yvonne M. Rosenquist, married to Edward, of Lititz, April L. Mooney, of Marietta, Bernard A. Carnes, of Lancaster, Lillian M. Carnes, of Elizabethtown and Corey A. Cayton, married to Lea Ann, of Jeffersonville, VT as well as Brenda’s extended family and caring friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Morris L. Carnes.
Brenda worked as a nurse’s aide for various nursing homes and retirement communities, most recently at Masonic Village, Elizabethtown, where she retired in 2010.
Brenda was an amazing woman who loved spending time with her family, gardening, shopping and creating great memories-especially epic Halloween parties. She will be remembered as being a strong woman and also for her great sense of humor, honesty and for her loyalty. Above all, she will be remembered as a loving companion, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Her friends and family were blessed to have in her in their lives and to be loved by Brenda.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11 AM on Monday, July 19, 2021, at Boyer Funeral Home, Inc., 144 East High Street, Elizabethtown, PA 17022, 717-367-1380. A time of visitation will be held from 10 AM until the time of the service on Monday. Private interment will be at the convenience of the family.
