Richard J. Rivele

Richard J. Rivele, 77, of Mount Joy, formerly of Philadelphia, passed away on Friday, November 3, 2023. Born, Saturday, August 3, 1946 in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late John and Irene (Parisi) Rivele. He was married 52 years to Carilee (Kuehner) Rivele, who passed away September 21, 2021.
Richard was a 1964 graduate of West Catholic High School and earned his Bachelors Degree in Political Science in 1969 from LaSalle University, both in Philadelphia. He began his working career as a teacher at Cardinal O’Hara High School and Bryn Mawr School for Girls. In 1972, he began working for the Chilton Publishing Company, retiring in 2019 as an editor after 47 years.
Richard loved working on cars. He enjoyed camping, fishing and biking, especially in New England. He loved most spending time with his grandchildren.
Surviving are two daughters: Lorraine Klimek and husband Robert of Schwenksville and Julie Wallace and husband Jonathan of Marietta; five grandchildren: Matthew, Samantha, Melanie, Ryan and Rachel, and a brother Stephen Rivele of Pasadena, CA.
