J. Warren Heisey, 81, of Mount Joy, formerly of Elizabethtown, passed away on Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at St. Anne’s Retirement community, Columbia. Born Monday, November 19, 1934, he was the son of the late J. Lester and Ida (Waltz) Heisey. He was the husband of Beverly J. (Roland) Heisey. They were married for 61 years on April 17th.

Warren was a long time member of Conoy Brethren in Christ Church, Elizabethtown, where he served as a deacon, board member and Sunday school teacher. He recently attended Calvary Bible Church in Mount Joy. For over 30 years Warren was involved with the Lancaster County 4H Swine Club. He was an avid supporter of the Elizabethtown Fair, specifically with the swine. Beginning in 1960, Warren worked in building construction, progressing from carpenter to project superintendent to construction manager before retiring from Mellon-Stuart Construction. After retirement, he worked for 5 years at White Oak Mills in Elizabethtown. He enjoyed woodworking and making furniture, and made each of his grandchildren something from the wood on his farm. He also enjoyed hunting.

In addition to his wife Beverly, he is survived by six children: J. Scott (Mimi) Heisey, Carlisle; Stuart L. (Doris) Heisey, Elizabethtown; Stanley R. (Dawn) Heisey, Lansdale; Steven R. (Heather D.) Heisey, Elizabethtown; Sharon, wife of Dale Balmer, Manheim and Sheldon E. (Vicki) Heisey, Manheim; seventeen grandchildren, three great grandchildren and a brother Ellwood Heisey, Nevada City, CA.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, June 12, 2016 at Conoy Brethren in Christ Church, 1722 Bainbridge Road, Elizabethtown at 3:00 PM. There will be no viewing. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Interment will be private.
