Arvella B. (Brandt) Longenecker

Arvella B. Longenecker, 84, of Elizabethtown, PA, entered into her eternal rest on May 4, 2015.  She was the loving wife of Robert M. Longenecker and they celebrated 62 years of marriage in February. Born in Middletown, Arvella was the daughter of the late D. Lloyd and Florence Horn Brandt. She had been employed at Bell Telephone Company as an operator, as well as working for the EAHS as a cashier in the cafeteria. Weight Watchers also employed Arvella for over thirty years as a receptionist. She and her husband co-owned the former Tropical Treat Drive-In in Elizabethtown. Arvella was a member of Grace Brethren Church; she enjoyed knitting, crocheting, cooking for her family, and staying active.

Surviving in addition to her husband are four children: Dale (Sandy) Longenecker, Fyffe, Alabama; Lynda Bender and Alan (Jill D.) Longenecker, both of Elizabethtown, and Judy Longenecker, Holiday, FL; 4 grandchildren, Holly Guinn, Stacey Bender, Matthew Bender, and Adam Longenecker; three great grandchildren; a brother Richard A. (Lois) Brandt, Middletown, and a sister, Shelby Stare, Middletown, DE. Her brother Donald L. Brandt preceded her in death.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Funeral Service honoring Arvella’s life 11 A.M. Tuesday, May 12, 2015, at Grace Brethren Church 305 Anchor Road Elizabethtown, PA  17022. Interment will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. There will be no public viewing, but the family will receive condolences from 10 A.M. until 11 A.M. at the church.
