Adele A. (Gonsior) Banko

On August 30 2017, Adele A Banko closed her eyes after a lifetime of looking over her family.

Adele was born to Antoinette and Frank Gonsior in Elizabeth, NJ on September 28, 1928. She went on to spend her childhood on South Park Street in Elizabeth, and graduated from Battin High School in town. At a local dance Adele would meet a young advertising associate and Marine Corps veteran Frank X Banko. Adele and Frank would be inseparable for 61 years attending to their family, friends, and community.

Adele would maintain loving households in Lake Mohawk, West Caldwell, Mount Laurel and Mays Landing New Jersey. She was also a fixture in the local Lion’s Club, PTA, and church organizations. In addition, Adele enjoyed many pleasures in life, whether it be tennis, opera, or arts and crafts.

Her loving husband Frank, parents, brothers and sister greet Adele once again. Adele’s legacy continues in  her children Elizabeth Linares and husband Liv, Andrea McAndrew and husband Joe, and Fran and girlfriend Anne; her grandchildren Daniel, Audrey, Josh, Emily, Sophie, and Sarah; and her great-grandchildren Jude, Emma, Edward, and Eli. Her spirit continues in all she touched.

A visitation will be held Saturday at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 560 Walton Ave, Mount Laurel, NJ 08054 at 10:00 near the pond. Catholic services will follow at 11:00. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Arline M Hughes Caring Endowment fund supporting the Masonic Village in Elizabethtown PA, where she received the most compassionate care.
