Robert L. Schlosser

Robert L."Pap" Schlosser, 90, of Elizabethtown, formerly of Tamaqua, passed away on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at the Mennonite Home in Lancaster. Born Monday, August 15, 1927 in Tamaqua, he was the son of the late Benjamin and Rebecca (Purnell) Schlosser. He was married 61 years to MaryAnn (Welkie) Schlosser who passed away in May of 2010.
Bob served in the US Navy as a Seabee during WWII and was employed for 32 years by the Atlas Powder Company in Tamaqua. He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church in Elizabethtown. Bob enjoyed all sports but particularly Elizabethtown College Men's Basketball and any sport his grandchildren were involved in. He was also an avid fisherman and Philles fan.
Mr. Schlosser is survived by a daughter Barbara Bonner and husband James of Rio Grande, NJ; a son Robert A. Schlosser and wife Susan of Elizabethtown; five grandchildren: Benjamin Schlosser and wife Lisa, Samuel Schlosser, William Schlosser, Erin Bonner, and Tara Suppa and husband Steven and a great grandson Daniel Suppa.
In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by a brother Benjamin and two sisters: Edith Woodward and Ruth Wallasea.
A memorial mass will be celebrated at St. Peter Catholic Church, 904 Mill Road, Elizabethtown, PA 17022 on Monday May 21stat 12noon.  Visitation will be from 11am until the time of service. Interment will take place at the convenience of the family.
