R. Dolores Alleman, 86, of Elizabethtown, PA entered into rest on April 28, 2018. She was the loving wife, for sixty years, of the late Warren A. Alleman, Jr. and the daughter of the late J.Ira and Anna Mae Coble. She was born in Conewago Township, PA.
As a young girl, she was an involved and enthusiastic 4-H member. Dolores graduated from The MS Hershey High School in 1948, after which she attended The St. Joseph Nursing School. She applied those skills in her employment as a private duty nurse and as a nurse at the Masonic Homes Hospital. She served her community as Judge of Elections for Lancaster County.
She was a notably active, long-time member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School and sang in the choir for many years; and she was a member of the Elizabethtown Chapter No. 407, Order of the Eastern Star.
She is survived by four children: W. Stephen Alleman, husband of Deborah, Elizabethtown, PA; Susan Mars, wife of Frank E. Mars; McLean, VA., Rev. Michael I. Alleman, husband of Megan, Lancaster, PA and Carol Alleman, Tucson, AZ. She is also survived by ten grandchildren: Ryan Alleman, husband of Ashley (Manheim, PA); Kacey Bradt, wife of Dr. Rory Bradt (Bellingham, WA); Jennifer Costello, wife of Sean Costello (Lewes, DE), Rebecca Ternus, wife of John Ternus (Los Altos Hills, CA), Jonathan Mars (NYC, NY), and Nicholas Mars (West Hollywood, CA); Matthew Alleman, husband of Katie (Pasadena, CA), Christopher Alleman, husband of Elizabeth (Huntersville, NC); Suzanne Pachuta, partner of Brian Walker (Phoenix, AZ), and Lauren Herrera, wife of John Herrera (Mesa, AZ). She is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren (and a 14thdue to arrive in June).
She is also survived by four siblings: Jay E. Coble, husband of Bonnie (Rhodes, IA), John Coble, husband of Georgene (Billings, MT), Kathryn Wagner, wife of Paul (Enon, OH), and David Coble, husband of Sylvia (Hershey, PA).
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her Celebration of Life Service, at the John S. Sell Memorial Chapel, Masonic Village, Elizabethtown, PA 17022 on Friday, May 4, 2018 at 11:00 AM. Visitation with the family will be held on Thursday evening, 6:00-8:00 PM at the Boyer Funeral Home, Inc., 144 E. High Street, Elizabethtown and on Friday at Sell Chapel from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
