Galen Weidner Fry, age 76, of Bainbridge and formerly of Manheim, PA passed away on Friday, December 29, 2017. Born July 16, 1941, in Central Manor, PA, he was the son of the late George H. and Mary (Weidner) (Fry) Greist.

Galen served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He retired from Mount Joy Wire Corporation (formerly National Standard) where he worked for 42 years. Galen loved to travel and was a bit of an adventurer. He rode his BMW motorcycle across America to California and back; backpacked through Europe; and cruised to Alaska. He was an avid collector of just about everything, but his favorite was his collection of 500 vintage peanut butter glasses, always scouring yard sales and auctions in search of the elusive piece for his collection. He enjoyed tinkering around his farmette and taking care of his pets, which through the years, ranged from the common goat to help him “cut” the grass to a miniature pony and a pair of lamas. Galen was full of ideas and explored every one of them never giving up when one failed. Most importantly, he loved his family and was extremely proud of his children and grandchildren and all of their accomplishments.

He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Judy (Paulhamus) Fry; his  son, Galen J. Fry (“Jim”) and wife, Jessica (Bixler) of Mount Joy; his daughter, Joyce (Fry) Tomasko and husband Ron of Mechanicsburg; his step-daughter, Denise (Watts) Rapp and husband Bill of Bainbridge; step-son Robert Watts of Leesport; and step-son James Watts and wife, Heather (Bair) of Elizabethtown. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren:  Hailey Fry, Logan Fry, Alex Tomasko and Nicholas Tomasko; and 6 step-grandchildren:  Mason Rapp, Aleah Watts, Christopher Watts, Tylor Watts, Brendan Watts and Kohl Watts. He was preceded in death by his sister, Gerna (Fry) Hess and step-grandchild, Lee Rapp. We will miss you Dad and Pop-Pop!
